Tokidoki Barbie complete with candyfloss pink hair

Barbie goes from Malibu dream house, to Miami Ink!

Barbie has hit 50, and it looks like she wanted to regain her youth by getting her plastic tattoed.

Instead of your latest Barbie packaged with clothing accesories, this doll comes with a tattoo gun and stickers!

Tokidoki Barbie is a trendier version of the ‘Totally stylin’ Tattoo Barbie’ released two years ago in Southern California, as this one comes with a pink bob and a cactus pooch bastardino. It’s released this October, for a sum of $50.00! Thank God I only collect magazines!

PFW Report

Paris Fashion Week has been a success as always, bringing us the parisian trend forecast for next Spring.

Balenciaga at PFW

Balenciaga showcased structured padded blazers, oversized bags, and high neckline silk blouses. The fashion house brought futuristic full skirts on to the catwalk, teamed with thick strapped heels and matching panelled shirts.

Tiny bustiers and sheer lace were all over the catwalk for Nina Ricci’s S/S 12′ Collection. Glamorous head gear such as bows and tiarras also made an apperance to compliment the neutral navy, creams, and black outfits at the start of the show. Ditsy prints and chunky jewellery brightened up the show, and it was clear to see that midi and maxi lengths will still be bang on trend next summer.

The Christian Dior show made leather cloche hats sexy, teamed with some of the most glamorous dresses that have been shown so far at PFW. Mosaic prints were an obvious inspiration to the collection, with tops, skirt hems and belts adorned with the metallic design. Grid patterns and monochrome rose prints looked stunning on the delicate sheer fabrics. Grown up gowns at maxi lengths, showing off the legs, looked gorgeous on the catwalk, and burnt orange garments brought the collection to life.

The Christian Dior show this afternoon was a collection to be seen, and I reckon mosaic print will be big next Spring after seeing the designers beautiful tile inspired garments. I can’t wait to see the other collections coming up, especially Lanvin and Vivienne Westwood this evening, along with Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Chloe and Miu Miu next week! Excitment!!!

Milan Fashion Week

Marni at Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion week has inspired all fashion followers into the new trends for Spring/Summer next year, with an abundance of bold colours and prints reeling us in.

Yet to fail us with their designs, D&G wowed in bold printed silks and draping fabrics; a perfect mix for warm weather travelling in style. 70’s accesories were brought from s/s 11′ into s/s 12′ again, but with a more glamorous, exotic feel.

Marni decorated the catwalk with ice cream pastel hues in lose fitting fabrics, with contrasting strong prints. Consuela Castigliani’s collection exposed a 60s feel with collars, ankle socks and florals.

Missoni brought the colours of the sea to their s/s collection, with textured fabrics on flamenco skirts and sheer tops.

Alberta Ferretti’s designs sashayed out in mismatched prints and clashing colours of purples and reds, but the designs really worked and gave a fun take on summer style.

Alberta Ferretti's exotic collection

The 1920’s was encapsulated in the Gucci range of designs, with shimmering flapper dresses in monochrome, and tassled box clutches to compliment the glamorous designs. The other half of the collection portrayed a smarter feel, with black and gold double ankle strap heels against sheer blouses and tux trousers.

There was a futuristic feel at Emporio Armani’s classy robotic collection, which included diagonal fabric cuts, plastic heels, and without a colour to be seen. Armani’s range gave a grown up, sophisticated goth vibe to the catwalk.

Prada showed beautiful vintage styles, with 60s wallpaper prints and burlesque style kitten heels and sheer, lightweight long coats. Crop tops and pencil skirts in satin and silk finishes outshone the collection, and pleated knee-length skirts oozed glamour sex appeal teamed with sheer 3/4 sleeve blouses.

Overall I LOVE the new S/S 12′ collectiona that were shown at MFW , especially from my favourites; Prada and D&G. I reckon vintage will be a main trend from the 20’s through to the 70’s (which I admitt im still excited about!) I also think it would be wise to keep an eye out for sheer, luxe blouses for Spring and skimpy bustiers for next Summer.

Cheryl Cole launches shoe line

Cheryl sports hair as high as her heels

The Girls Aloud singer has launched her new range of shoes with, where she debuted her designs at London Fashion Week, but will not be released until December!

Amazingly the talent show judge has made the the prices for her shoe range at £39.95, which means if you’re a student like me, you will be overjoyed!

Cheryl is also looking to expand her new fashion career where in The Guardian last week it said she is  was looking beyond the realm of shoe designing and that it could be ‘the start of something’. Personally I love Cheryl’s style and think that she could really sell to the Teen-Tween audience if she keeps her prices low.

Cheryl way ahead of the Mod trend this A/W

Unfortunately not all people agree, as WAG and high-end fashion designer Victoria Beckham has been slating Cheryl Cole’s new fashion range as a PR stunt and that she’s an amateur. Cheryl has said that her range will appear to a younger market, whereas Posh’s clothes are too old. Posh has some fab bags, but even if I won the lottery I wouldnt spend £1k+ on them!

A Victoria Beckham bag worth £2300 as Selfridges. Ouch.

I am genuinely really excited to see what Cheryl’s come up with, and December is the perfect time to start pestering the family for shoe-shaped christmas presents!

Princess Beatrice’s massive hat sells at a massive price

Princess Beatrice dressed in Valentino and THAT hat

Princess Beatrice sold the hat that reached headlines on Ebay, where it went for a whopping £80,000!

For those of you who watched the royal wedding, or have seen the many Facebook pages in its honour, you must have already witnessed the fashion crime Princess Beatrice portrayed on her head, at the Kate and Will’s wedding.

The Princess who originally bought the fascinator by Philip Treacy decided to sell it online at a starting price of £5000, where it sold at £81,100,01 to a mystery buyer.

Even Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne met the first bid at £5000!

Duncan's 'In' on this deal.

I do forgive her however for wearing antler ears as a hat, as the 22 year old has decided to donate all the money raised from the auction to UNICEF and Children In Crisis.

Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton?

In Uncategorized on April 22, 2011 at 11:53 pm

It has been speculated recently that actress Angelina Jolie will be the new face for Louis Vuitton’s print range.

Apparently ‘The Tourist‘ star has signed a $10m deal to do the advertisements, which will be on your screens this summer.

The last person to front the french brand was Madonna, and JLo has also had her part in modelling for them, so Jolie has some big shoes to fill!

At 35, Angelina has had many successes throughout her life, and this may be an excellent one to add to the list! I think she’s gorgeous, and cannot wait to see her in Louis Vuitton!

Beyonce’s new song LEAKED!

In Uncategorized on April 19, 2011 at 12:43 am

Beyonce. Loving the blonde!

Beyonce’s new song Girls (Who run the world) has been leaked on the internet recently, causing alot of discussion on what people thought of the new track.

As a huge Beyonce fan, I love the new song and think it will be a dance floor win, especially compared to the current songs coming from Rihanna, and Jlo’s ‘On the floor’ summer anthem.

The main backing music to Girls is lifted from Major Lazer’s ‘Pon De Floor’ and her lyrics show her strong beliefs in the power in women.

Her upcoming album ‘4’ will be an absolute sellout if its filled with clubbing hits like this, and will gain even more female followers, as her songs seem to be more inspirational each album she brings out.

See what you think!

Gaga shoe fail!

In Uncategorized on April 14, 2011 at 9:38 pm

Lady Gaga falls on stage during a concert in Houston last friday.

I feel bad to hate on Lady Gaga because she is a musical/fashion icon with millions on fans, and it’s not that I’m hating…just merely having an opinion that she is sometimes too big for her boots. Or too small. I don’t know, they just don’t fit!

Last year Miss Gaga stacked it at Heathrow Airport wearing ridiculously high leather boots.

Lady Gaga at Heathrow Airport

And yet again she has failed to stay upright, as last friday when performing a concert in Houston, she stumbled off a piano stool and landed flat on her backside in front of thousands of people. Credit to her though, as she kept on singing as if nothing happened!

The slow-mo kills me. She is an entertainer alright.

World’s most expensive pair of shoes

In Uncategorized on April 14, 2011 at 9:21 pm

British jewellery designer, Christopher Michael Shellis, created the world’s most expensive shoes, selling at £140,000 a pair.

The heels have a 1,000 year guarentee and are made of solid gold, and encrusted with around 2200 diamonds, making them them more bling then JLo on a night out.

The ridiculous price may have put people off…as none of the shoes have been sold since being on sale 5 months ago.

Personally, I think that the price is not the only thing that is offputting, more like the actual shoe! They look like a pair a 16 year old would pick out at TKMax for her prom. In my opinion, they’re tacky and dull, and wouldn’t beat any £25 shoe at New Look.

Mr Shellis, stick to the jewellery sunshine!

Red Alert!

In Uncategorized on April 8, 2011 at 12:50 am

From the runway to the red carpet, red is the colour to be seen in.

Whether its to be worn on your nails or your feet, everyone has been raving red.

Valentino has inspired celebrities such as Jessica Alba and Dita Von Teese with his lipstick red designs:

Jessica Alba wore the same dress as Selita Ebanks, who wore hers to the Vanity Fair Party.

Both girls look stunning, but I think Alba pulled it off the best, keeping the train of the dress on, and accesorising with a few of girls best friends.

Who do you think looked better?

Actress’s Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow also see the attraction as they cannot be seen without their staple red lipstick.

Even hair has been going a certain raven! Rihanna famously started the trend last year, but even X Factor runner up Cher Lloyd has been rocking the strawberry look.

Cher Lloyd

Got bored of Cheryl Cole did we Miss Lloyd?

I’ve seen many Rihanna look-a-likes on the streets of Preston City alone, which shows how this one colour has made a massive fashion impact this year. Even the Guardian have written about it!

You could say that everyone is seeing red (in a good way!)
